Why Support Made in America?

We believe Made in America products are worth the extra effort and investment. Here’s why.

Each year, we celebrate our nation and what it means to live in America, land of the free, home of the brave. And while the Fourth of July holds many specific meanings, it’s an opportunity to reflect on other ways we can recognize and honor our nation.

At SteelStack, we believe in the Made in America movement to shop local and support local.

Why support Made in America?

… because it’s who we are.

“In the steel industry, ‘made in America’ is such a large part of the fabric of the country,” said Brand Manager Scott Lawrence. “The whole country grew up with the steel industry, so it’s just part of the culture and the growth of the United States.”

… because it helps those closest to us.

Our SteelStack storage systems are built using 95% locally-sourced materials, primarily from the southeast region of the United States where we are headquartered. We partner with many privately-owned companies to fuel their growth here, and collectively support the regional economy and workforces.

“I’ll pay a little bit more to buy local,” Scott said. “Knowing that something is made in America, it contributes to supporting the economy that people are a part of. It is hard to always be conscious that you’re participating in the local economy at every level - but it is something we can always strive to do a little more.

… because it creates stability for our businesses.

The supply chain is quite fragile, and in a post-pandemic world the manufacturing industry is feeling these effects. Maintaining strong relationships with local suppliers and businesses sets us up for success when unexpected events create a market like this.

Every time you decide to buy something made in America, its a choice that makes us collectively stronger. So, why not?

… because it builds relationships with fellow citizens.

Locally-based companies are able to provide more one-on-one customer service while also being able to accommodate local and regional cultural preferences. It boils down to companies and customers understanding each other and meeting each other's needs. In this way, it comes full circle to supporting each other and our Country.
